A movement disorder specialist is a neurologist who has acquired additional training in movement disorders. This type of doctor may have extensive knowledge of tardive syndromes, therapies and ongoing research.

Note: Before making an appointment with a specialist, we recommend that you ask whether they have experience treating people with tardive dyskinesia; many movement disorders specialists may only have treated people with Parkinson’s Disease.
